In your video, I did not see any aggressive vendors at the Da Nang beach as I saw on Cartagena, Colombia, beaches last year. I pray the municipality keeps it that way. This video is great!

Great video, thinking about coming in August. I think it makes sense that a remote island like that is more expensive because it’s hard to get anything there which makes building etc more expensive. So either you have to live very basic or you pay the extra cash for the extra quality :)

What I mean is the "Bali lifestyle" - aren't most of the people there, especially girls, 20-25 years old? I did trips to Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, not to Bali yet. I think Bali might be the thing I've been looking for. I will go soon for a trip to see what's going on there, before potentially moving. I wouldn't like to feel like I am an old creepy guy while other people are 20-25. As you might suspect, I am planning on leaving my european life behind and starting a new chapter. Koh Phangan is rapidly deteriorating due to the influx of low-quality construction projects. The new constructions are so shoddy they make sandcastles look like architectural marvels. Not only do they fail to meet international standards, but they’re also wildly overpriced. Thai owners seem more interested in cashing in quickly than creating anything remotely beautiful. Meanwhile, the infrastructure in villages like Tongsala, the island’s “capital,” resembles third-world buildings. And let’s not get started on the nomads-let’s just say hygienically challenged. I've been living here and need to move because besides the private gem where I stay, the rest of Koh Phangan is going downhill faster than a tuk-tuk with bad brakes.

I can't say I wasn't tempted at times, but I couldn't find a stable remote job for that to make it happen. The perfect job for me would be working for a game company, as many of them allow that type of remote or work from anywhere job. Unfortunately, as I work mainly for movies and Episodic TV, I couldn't break into the video game business. Oh, well.... maybe in another life then. 😅
